His work has taken him through operations, information technology, consulting, project management, education, cybersecurity, and public service. After moving to Sweden in 2014, Adrian experienced a dramatic shift from hierarchical, fast-moving workplaces to a culture built around collaboration, consensus, trust, and personal balance. Adapting meant learning a new language, studying Swedish society, asking plenty of questions, and reconsidering many of his assumptions about professional life. Today, Adrian holds a master's degree in Software Engineering from the University of Liverpool and works as an IT Strategy Advisor at Härnösand Municipality, where he helps shape digital strategies for public services. He wrote this book for the people he recognizes from his own journey: immigrants trying to find a way in, graduates entering an unfamiliar professional world, and international workers who know they are capable but have not yet learned the local rules.
